KERALA FOLKLORE MUSEUM
This Unique museum is the best example of traditional Kerala architecture. The structure is made of wood, laterite stone and clay tiles. Museum occupies the largest ethnic collections of more than 6000 art works. This is a treasure trove of stone, wood and bronze sculptures, ancient terracotta, Stone Age objects, jewellery, paintings, oil lamps, musical instruments, tribal and folk art, wood works, utensils, masks and traditional art forms etc.

Bolgatty Palace is the oldest palace built by the Dutch outside the Kingdom of Holland. The palace was built by a Dutch merchant in 1744 and served as the official residence of Dutch Governor. Cherai Beach is located in Cherai on the northern side of Vypin Island, a suburb of Kochi. The beach is around 10 km long and is ideal for swimming as the tide is mostly low and the waves are gentle. The Dutch Palace/ Mattancherry Palace was built around 1545, in the traditional Kerala ‘Nalukettu’ style, by the Portuguese as a gift to the then Maharajah of Kochi Veera Kerala Varma. There is a splendid collection of murals in the palace. Many artefacts from the past including palanquins, ceremonial dresses, royal umbrellas, coins and drawings are preserved here.
HILL PALACE
Constructed in 1865 by the Maharaja of Cochin, Hill Palace has gained fame as a comprehensive Ethno-Archaeological Museum and Kerala’s first Heritage Museum. Visitors can view oil paintings, murals, sculptures, manuscripts, and artifacts belonging to the Kochi royal family. Additionally, the museum houses antique ceramics from the Far East, Kudakkallu (tombstones), Thoppikkallu (hood stones), laterite memorials, and wooden memorials from ancient civilizations

The original Edapally church, constructed in 593, started as a modest structure. With the growth of the congregation, a larger church was erected in 1080. The third church, built in 2015, accommodates 10,000 people, making it one of the largest churches in India. The two older churches have been preserved due to their historical significance.
BHOOTHATHAN KETTU DAM
Large, unshaped stone blocks are placed on both sides of the Periyar River to form the dam, giving it the appearance of a natural structure built by superhumans. The name Bhoothathan Kettu translates to “monster fort,” as past generations believed it was constructed by a Bhootham (monster). The original natural dam has since been supplemented by a modern dam, which impounds the Bhoothathankettu Reservoir (Thattekad Reservoir).

The Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary, often referred to as the ‘green lung of Kochi,’ is an ecologically important area located in the heart of Kochi. This sanctuary is a nesting habitat for a diverse range of migratory birds and is home to various types of mangroves and associated species. The ideal time to visit is during the early summer months, particularly from mid-January to early March.
Paradesi Synagogue
First built in 1568., the Synagogue was destroyed by the Portuguese in 1662. It was reconstructed a couple of years later by the Dutch. The huge central hall, grand pillars, large open windows, glass chandeliers, lamps, ceramic floor tiles – you will for sure be stunned by the beauty of this marvel.
