Integrated genomic and metabolomic approach for the discovery of novel small molecules with potential bio-activity from marine microorganisms
The work envisages isolation, purification and characterisation of novel secondary metabolites from marine actinomycetes through employing genomic and metabolomics approaches. The present study on discovery of small molecule Marine Natural Products (MNPs) form the unique actinomycetes bio-resources form Indian Ocean may lead to the identification of novel natural products which shall lead to the development of novel therapeutic drugs against cancer or infectious disease including malaria.
